NBA free agency 2010 is starting in about 29 hours….

Nets fans I’d be okay (at least I am in a better position than the Knicks)

Heat fans (I don’t know any, but I imagine there will be a lot of front runner Heat fans if all the rumors are true) I’d be in a very very good mood…

IT WILL ALL CHANGE FOREVER!!!

At the beginning of this decade I couldn’t even stand looking at Kobe Bryant… I simply hated him… His arrogance, his greedy play, his me first attitude or maybe I just didn’t plain like him… However at the end of this decade, I can’t but be more fond of the man… Not many athletes can say they have led or Co-led their teams to 5 championships… Kobe can… His leadership, and his (wait for it) TEAM FIRST mentality, not to mention the man can just straight up ball. Kobe is everything you want in not just a NBA player, but a player in any sport. There are only a few other athletes that I can think of that are in his class (Derek Jeter, Tom Brady, Tiger Woods, Roger Federer, just to name a few off of a very short list).

Just to clarify my favorite NBA player is Lebron James… Those of you who know me know that fact. I am always the guy who says Lebron James is the best player in the NBA… A statment that I still stand by. Yet if we measure a player by championships and by the way he plays the game then Kobe Bryant is the best player not only in the NBA today but in the NBA this past decade…

Killer Instinct… That’s what Jordan had, what Tiger has, and what Mariano Rivera has, and what Kobe Bryant puts on display every 4th quarter… Simply put Kobe wants to beat you… I love that about him… That will, that want, that desire to beat his opponent… As a fan of sports how could you not love that from an athlete. One thing I despise in sports is when opponents (players from opposing teams) play each other and playfully talk, or give each other pats on the back; mind you that they are playing against one another. No I want that player who says “I want to win, I want to beat you so bad you don’t forget it” That’s who Kobe is… He doesn’t take it easy on anyone of his opponents.. As far as he’s concerned if you are not wearing his team’s Jersey, then you are an enemy of the state…

Kobe has gone from a young arogant punk to controversial athlete to a NBA Championship great… And he is one NBA championship title away from catching up to his idol Michael Jordan.

Look out Michael… Kobe is right behind you.

Este es uno de esos casos en el que dices “¿Cómo puede ser que todavía no lo hayan creado?”. Si no tienes la menor idea de lo que estoy hablando y te gusta el fútbol, mejor que sigas leyendo, porque este prototipo de balón podría cambiar la forma en la que se concibe este deporte.

Las pelotas son iguales (con algunos cambios en lo que a los materiales de fabricación se refiere) hace añales y me parece hasta curioso que ningún tipo de tecnología se haya implementado en ellas.

Por ese motivo el prototipo CTRUS me pareció muy interesante. Se trata de un balón que cuenta estructura reforzada elástica que no necesitará aire en su interior y que además incluirá un dispositivo GPS y RFID que permitirá saber exactamente en qué lugar se encuentra. Esto sería ideal para saber si realmente fue gol o no o si se fue de las líneas de la cancha y no tener que confiar en la vista de los árbitros (miles de veces cuestionados).

También tiene una cámara con estabilización de imagen (deberían mejorarse las tecnologías conocidas hasta ahora porque sino sería imposible) que permitiría observar el recorrido del balón y disfrutar de una visión que antes era inimaginable. ¿Quieres más? También tendría acelerómetros para poder medir la intensidad de impacto.

Como dije, lamentablemente no es más que un prototipo creado por una agencia de marketing, pero no estaría nada mal en el futuro poder ver esto en desarrollo (aunque sé que muchos fanáticos estarían en contra).
